December 20, 1962 - July 15, 2024
Michael Lee Meoak passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side at 10:06 pm on July 15, 2024. He was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana on December 20, 1962. Mike was the 5th child of Richard Dee Meoak and Lela Lenore (Ellsworth)Meoak. He met the love of his life, Janice Kinzel in October of 2004. They were married on his birthday, December 20, 2014.
He graduated from Taylor High School in Center, Indiana in 1981. Because of his love to work on cars while in high school he went on to study Automotive and Diesel Service Technology at Lincoln Technical College. He graduated in the class of 1982. After school he worked at Firestone Tires in Noblesville as an automotive mechanic. In October of 1990, he became a loyal and hard-working employee of Greene's Auto Service alongside his sons until his passing.
Mike loved the outdoors and nature. He built a home in the beautiful, wooded area of Wilbur, Indiana where his house displays his creative and skillful woodworking. Mike also loved to ride his Harley Davison motorcycle with his wife, Jan and he was instrumental in passing that love to his sons, Steven and Joseph along with his sister, Laurene and niece, Jessica. He enjoyed cruising on the sea and traveling in and out of the country. Mike and Jan even had plans to buy a boat and travel The Great Loop. Visiting his sister, Marsha's Lake house in Warsaw, was something he looked forward to. In 2019 he volunteered and built a playground for the children of Chula Vista, Mexico. Mike found interest in history, astrology, and enjoyed learning and sharing. Mike loved music and appreciated talented musicians. He was one of those people who was so easy to talk to and like. He loved life and would tell you how happy he was. Mike loved his family and was a wonderful husband, a proud father of his two sons, and a beloved brother. He touched everyone who knew him. Some of his best friends were four legged creatures; he loved his dogs, Cuda, Beefy, and Pepper.
