Michael Eric Mathis, age 66, of Plainfield passed away on March 16, 2016 at The Gathering Together in Plainfield.  He was born on April 18, 1949 in Indianapolis to Paul Eric and Ruth Elizabeth Hybarger Mathis.  He is survived by Sue Maynard Mathis whom he married on July 5, 1975.  Mike was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a claims adjuster for 40 years for Continental Insurance and FCCI Insurance companies.  Mike was an active member of the Plainfield Optimist Club and was very involved in youth baseball and soccer.  Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Calling hours will be from 3 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.  Additional survivors include his children, Adam (Ashley) Mathis, Beth Mathis; sister, Cathy (Brad) Henderson and grandchildren, Austin and Libby Mathis.
