Melvin C. Daum, age 77, of Plainfield passed away on December 10, 2024.  He was born on January 19, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Horace Lewis and Alma Ruth Forward Daum.  He was the owner/operator of Daum Grain in Plainfield for several years.  Mel enjoyed racing and snowmobiling.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 18, 2024 at 1 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the services at 1 p.m.

Survivors include his daughters: Jennifer Smith, Julie Marchand, Jill Clements (Jeff) and Joni Blacketer (Paul).  Brother: Robert G. Daum. 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren   He was preceded in death by his siblings James L. Daum, Mary Lou Taber, Linda Marie English and Russell Lee Daum.
