Maurice Lee Gay, 82, of Avon, passed away on September 02, 2024.  He was born on November 26, 1941 in HighSplint, Kentucky, to the late Matilda (Burton) and Charles Gay.  Maurice married Linda (Cotton) and she preceded him in death on May 22, 2012.  Maurice was an U. S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #213 in Tell City, Indiana.  He was a pipefitter working at Naval Avionics for many years.  Maurice then worked at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center for 20 years retiring in 2003.  Survivors include his son, Kevin Gay (Rene) of Amo; 4 granddaughters, Britany Jeffries, Meghan Ellett, Blaklee Rust (Charles), Victoria Conway; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson.  His parents; wife; granddaughter, Adrian Alexander; and great grandson, Briar Brown, preceded him in death.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.  There will be no services at this time.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
