Mary L. Carter Blankenship, 77 of Danville, passed away June 26, 2016 in her residence, surrounded by her family.  Born March 23, 1939 in Kirkland, she was the daughter of Fred and Hazel Gail Clark Shields.  She married James C. Blankenship on October 15, 1983 in Danville.  Mary was a member of First Assembly of God in Danville and also attended Faith Baptist Church in Avon.  Survivors include her husband, James "Cliff" Blankenship of Danville; sons, Robert K. Carter (Tincha) of Arizona, Tim J. Carter of Danville, Larry L. Carter (Trish) of Danville, Earl Carter (Louise) of Indianapolis; daughters, Debra K. Mullins of Plainfield, Tina Carter of Lebanon, Anna Welch (Gary) of North Salem; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Her first husband, Robert K. Carter; daughter, Patricia May Carter; brother, Jacob Shields and sister, Eva Hefley, preceded her in death.  Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the Danville South Cemetery.  Calling will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
