Martha V. Fisher, age 95, passed away on May 9, 2024 in Meadow Lakes Assisted Living in Mooresville. Martha was born on September 28, 1928 in Monrovia, Indiana to the late John B. and Marcia (Shannon) Van Den Bosch and resided most of her life there before moving to Plainfield. She married Bill M. Fisher on August 29, 1948 in Monrovia, Indiana; he preceded her in death in 2019. Martha was a teacher at the Monrovia Elementary and also at Neil Armstrong Elementary in Mooresville retiring after 25 years of service. She was a former member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, knitting, sewing, and quilting. Martha tutored at the Plainfield Correction Center after her retirement.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Hall-Baker funeral Home, Plainfield. A memorial service will start at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter: Janet (Jerry) McCracken. Sister: Elizabeth (Jim) Sheely. Grandchildren: Karie (Mat) Jones, Kris Fisher, Jake (Annette) McCracken and Brittney (Mac) McCracken. Great grandchildren: Braden, Kaitlin, Finn, Eva, Ethan and Addison. Martha was preceded in death by a Greatgrandchild K.J. Fisher, Children: Jeff Fisher and Ann Fisher, sister: Joan Hammer and brothers: Wallace Van Den Bosch and Phil Van Den Bosch.
