Martha H. Hess, 90 of Danville, passed away July 05, 2023.  She was born December 26, 1932 in Cloverdale to the late Earl Lee and Glenola Violeh (Stattner) Grove.  She graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1951.  Martha married Walter Harold Hess on May 06, 1955 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2018.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Danville United Methodist Church.  Survivors include her sons, Richard (Kristy) Hess of Spokane, WA., David (Jan) Hess of Greencastle, James (Sharon) Hess of Warren, MI.; brother, Carl Grove; sister, Audre Wilson; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; youngest son, Jeffrey Hess on November 06, 2001; and siblings, Paul, Alvin, Marvin Grove, Betty Chesterman, and Nila Thompson. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
