Lloyd Martin Beard, 90, of Danville, passed away on August 07, 2024.  He was born December 29, 1933 in Sandytown, Indiana, to the late Belva (Simmons) and Lloyd Beard.  Lloyd was an U. S. Army veteran and worked as a tool and die maker at GM Truck and Bus for 40 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the UAW Local #23 and the Abundant Life House of Mercy Church in Danville.  Lloyd enjoyed music, playing his guitar, fishing, and was an avid gardener.  Survivors include his children, Dee A. Holbrook (Thomas) of Avon, Paul Beard (Jana) of Danville, Suzzanne Brown (Eric) of Bainbridge, Mary Jo Kern (John) of Danville; sister, Norma Brown of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jacob Holbrook, Eric Brown, Andrea Brown, Jacquelyn Smith, Katherine Beard, Allyson Kern, Steven Brown, Sean Brown, Matthew Kern; and 12 great grandchildren.  His parents; sister, Velma Farrington; and son, Michael Beard, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Abundant Life House of Mercy Church 1003 W Lincoln St Danville, IN 46122. Burial with military honors will follow at Danville South Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the church.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Sheltering Wings P. O. Box 92 Danville, IN 46122.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
