Linda Kaye Rhoton, 75 of Danville, passed away on December 10, 2022.  She was born on October 16, 1947 in Liberty, Kentucky, to the late Ruby Elizabeth (Lawson) Smith and Mitchell Riley Smith.  Linda married Joe Mitchell Rhoton on November 11, 1965 and they were married for 49 years before his death December 28, 2014.  Linda was in charge of the payroll department for the Veteran's Administration for over 30 years, retiring in 2012.  She was a member of Crossroads Church in Avon and the Plainfield Eagles Lodge #3207.  Linda volunteered at the Hendricks County Senior Center in Danville.  Survivors include her daughters, Beth Ann (Steve) Ward, Kimberly Renay (Jeffrey) Sizemore, both of Danville; siblings, Mitchell, Steve, Sharon, Keith, Charlotte, Debbie; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeff), Tyler, Lauren (Jonah), Bryan (Maddie), Brooke; 2 great-grandchildren, Savannah and Ashtyn.  Her parents; husband; and brother, Sonny Smith, preceded her in death.  Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 in the chapel at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Sheltering Wings, or any organization that helps children.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.
