Linda Kay Carper, age 74, of Plainfield, passed away on August 31, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1952, in Finley, Tennessee, to the late Henry Carper and Sarah Pauline Coleman Carper. Linda held several different positions including working as a Correctional Officer for the State of Indiana and also at Bloomington Meadows before her retirement.

Linda was a free spirit at heart. She enjoyed traveling and spending as much time in nature as possible. She had quite a green thumb and collection of plants. Linda loved any and every animal, specifically her dog, Fritz. She loved to sit and play cards; she enjoyed games like Euchre and Rummy. Linda also loved scratch-off lottery tickets.

Survivors include her long-time companion, Russell “Russ” Wishert, Daughter, Jennifer (Kelly) Latimore. Sisters: Joyce and Marie Carper. Brother: Robert Boone. Grandchildren: Peyton Jones, Kaden Latimore, Adelyn Gates, and Jaxon Latimore. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, son: Matthew David Crawley, brother: James Carper, sisters: Diane Carper and Brenda Dras.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday September 2, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hendricks County FOP Lodge #132 5518 S. CR 700 E. Plainfield, Indiana 46168
