Linda Kay Carper, age 74 of Plainfield passed away on August 31. 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1952 in Finley, Tennessee to the late Henry Carper and Sarah Pauline Coleman Carper. Linda held several positions including working as a Correctional Officer for the State of Indiana and also worked at Bloomington Meadows before her retirement.

Linda enjoyed her dog, Fritz. She had a love for plants, nature and had quite the green thumb. Linda enjoyed playing Euchre, she was a free-spirited hippy who loved to travel and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing scratch off lottery tickets.

Survivors include her long-time companion Russell “Russ” Wishert, Daughter Jennifer Latimore (Kelly). Sisters: Joyce Carper and Marie Carper. Brother: Robert Boone. Grandchildren: Peyton Jones, Kaden Latimore, Adelyn (Adi) Gates and Jaxon Latimore. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Matthew David Crawley, brother, James Carper, sisters, Diane Carper and Brenda Dras.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on a date to be announced at the Plainfield Eagles Lodge #3207 5556 US 40 Plainfield, Indiana 46168
