Lillian Sue Ellen “Susie” Strong, 85 of Danville, passed away on June 05, 2026. She was born on December 24, 1940 in Indianapolis to the late Leo Glavis Hayward and Iona Randall Schaffer.

Susie worked as a teacher’s aide for the Indianapolis Public School System for over 16 years before retirement. She was an avid reader and used to love to play BINGO.

Survivors include her children, April Dawn Smith (Bob) of Danville, Phillip Michael McDaniel (Gina) of Indianapolis, Edward Strong and LeRoy Strong, both of Booneville, MS.; sister, Patricia Goodman of Danville; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 siblings, Joe, Tommy, Leo, Minnie and Sally.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville.
