Obituary

Lawrence W. “Larry” Lee, 69, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Larry was born on May 16, 1957, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of the late Charles and Sue Carol (Mies) Lee. He married Julie (Hodgin) Lee, his beloved wife of 45 years, who survives.

Larry devoted his career to the construction industry, serving as a superintendent for Rose Construction for many years, where he was known for his skill, steady leadership, and strong work ethic.

A man of deep and active faith, Larry was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Mooresville, where he taught religious education. For many years he was also a devoted member of St. Susanna Parish in Plainfield, where he served on the parish council and the school board, taught religious education, coached CYO athletics and served as the parish’s Athletic Director, and helped lead the development of Zore Hall. His service to the wider Church included serving as Vice President of the West Deanery Oversight Committee, as a member of the Indianapolis Deanery Coordinating Committee, and as a board member of Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis.

Larry lived his faith through action. He was active with Beggars for the Poor in Indianapolis, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and took part in numerous projects developing and building churches in impoverished communities. Above all, Larry devoted his life to his family, and he cherished cooking for the holidays, bringing his loved ones together around the table.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Julie Lee; his son, Nathan Lee and his wife, Stassia, of Kokomo; his daughters, Diana and her husband, Richard Hopson, of Plainfield, Kathleen and her husband, Jacob Jones, of Mooresville, Mary Jo and her husband, Ronald Maynard, of La Porte, and Stephanie and her husband, Nick Rose, of Carmel; his 20 cherished grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Lee.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 North Indiana Street, Mooresville, Indiana 46158. Cremation has been entrusted to Morgan County Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beggars for the Poor, Indianapolis.
