Laura M. Chappell, 77 of Danville, passed away August 06, 2020.  She was born on March 15, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late Russell and Elnore (Sanner) Ray.  She married Jerry Chappell in July of 1997 in Huntingburg, Indiana.  Laura retired from the State of Indiana Highway Department after 10 years of service.  She was a member of Northview Christian Church and previously, she and Jerry were involved with prison ministry in southern Indiana. Laura loved taking long walks with her dogs and gardening, especially flowers.  Survivors include her husband, Jerry Chappell of Danville; children, Vance Worley and Laurie Worley, both of Spencer; Jackie Sumerlin, Teresa Surber, Steve Chappell, Mark Chappell; sisters Anita Baumonk, Shirley Smoot; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her parents and son, James Worley, preceded her in death.  Services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 10, 2020 in Northview Christian Church, Danville, with burial to follow in K of P Cemetery, Lizton.  Friends and family may call from 12:00 pm until the service time in the church.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 5635 W 96th St Ste 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278.
