It is with heavy but grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Neal Yates, a loving husband, brother, and devoted father who passed away peacefully on January 29th 2025 at age 83. Born in Scottsville KY on June 24 1941, Larry had a career as a sheet metal fabricator and worked the latter part of his career with Eli Lilly and Co. 20 years before retiring in 2008. He will be remembered as an avid cyclist, pilot, fisherman, woodworker, and hunter with his many birddogs. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joanna Hardin, children: Luci Dick (Jamie) and Summer Galyan (Josh), sister: Kim Potochnik (Mick), and grandchildren: Trevor and Mackenzie Dick and Caleb Galyan. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 7th at Hall Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield with visitation starting at 11, service at 1 and entombment following at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
