Kathleen M. Root, 64 of Avon, passed away December 18, 2020. She was born on November 05, 1956 in Quincy, Illinois to the late Richard and Marjorie Elbus Salrin. She married Robert J. Root on April 28, 1979 in Mount Sterling, Illinois. Kathleen was a registered nurse and worked as a critical care manager for United Healthcare for many years. She enjoyed needlepoint, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, hiking, going to concerts and watching the Denver Broncos football team. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Robert Root of Avon; siblings, Thomas R. Salrin of Tipton, Iowa, Daniel F. Salrin of Peoria, Illinois, Emily Morris (Charles) of Coatesville; nieces and nephews, Christopher Salrin (Dayla), Jennifer Salrin (Steven Collier), Melissa Salrin (Jamie Warren), Suzanne Thomas (Brenton), Eric Salrin, Mark Salrin (Kim), David Salrin (Katie), Michele Pinkerton (Ryan), Jessica Arnes (Justin), Michael Morris, Janelle Morris; and several great nieces and great nephews. Her parents; sister-in-law, Mary Salrin and great nephew, Eli Thomas, preceded her in death. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Danville, with burial to follow at St. Malachy West Cemetery, Pittsboro. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service at the church. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 50 E 91st St Ste 100 Indianapolis, IN 46240. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.
