IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Lee
(Baumgardner) Laucher
October 22, 1946 – December 27, 2025
Karen Lee Laucher (79) has entered into eternal rest in the early hours of Saturday, December 27, 2025, just over a day after enjoying a beautiful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day surrounded by her cherished family.
Karen was born on October 22, 1946, in Denbo, PA, the daughter of late Charles and Anna Mae Lunt Baumgardner.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Karen devoted herself full-time to her roles as wife and mother in Canonsburg, PA until her children grew older. Subsequently, she pursued a degree in accounting at Penn Commercial Business School and worked in a related field. As her children matured and relocated to Indiana, Karen and her husband Charles followed suit and moved close to them in Danville IN. This move enabled Karen to focus on her lifelong aspiration of being an exceptional mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her dedication to this role was remarkable, as evidenced by her active participation in family events, games, and other activities. Karen's home was always welcoming, with family and friends always leaving well-fed and with some kind of gift. Moreover, she offered a listening ear and sage advice to her family members.
Communicating with her distant, beloved relatives and friends always brought Karen such happiness, a feeling she joyfully shared with her immediate family.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Charles S Laucher of almost 58 years; her two children Charles (Tim) Laucher (Debbie) and Brian K. Laucher (Jody); four grandchildren, Paige, Carly, Chaz and Savannah; two great grandchildren, Lorelai, and Christopher; and her brother Eugene Baumgardner (Nancy). She is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Proceeded in death in addition to her parents are three sisters, Mary Margaret Baumgardner, Sharon McIntosh (Karen's twin sister), Patricia (Patty) Woods and three brothers Jerome Baumgardner, David Baumgardner and Roy Baumgardner
No funeral service will be held as per Karen's wishes; however, she had previously stated the following: "My friends and family can have some alone time to think of me and some of the memories of me. Only good memories are allowed!"
The family finds comfort in knowing she is now in heaven, reunited with her beloved family who went before her. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. Her life was a blessing, and her memory a treasure, loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.
