Joyce E. Johnson, 87 of Plainfield, passed away on June 12, 2024 in Avon.  She was born on October 23, 1936 in Stinesville, Indiana, to the late Catherine Mae (Stewart) and Carl Wright.  She married William Johnson and he preceded her in death on April 07, 2012.  Joyce was a homemaker and a volunteer firefighter for the Cartersburg Fire Department.  She was fun-loving and a member of the Eastern Star.  Survivors include her son, Michael (Mary Chaplin) Johnson; daughters, Terry Ulrey, Sharon Gabbard, Julie Hensen; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her parents; husband; and sister, Jewell Soots, preceded her in death.  A graveside service will be held June 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Clayton Cemetery.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
