Joyce I. Evans, 72 of Avon (formerly of Danville), passed away on May 05, 2023.  She was born on December 02, 1950 in Indianapolis, to the late Margaret J. (Hutchens) and Donald C. Griswold.  Joyce married Charles L. Evans on July 17, 1976 in Danville.  She graduated from Danville High School in 1968 and then received her degree from Porter Business College.  Joyce worked for the Metro Emergency Community Agency 911 for 38 years retiring in 2007 as a GIS Administrator.  She loved to travel, camp, fish, and most recently enjoyed lunches with her neighborhood ladies.  Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charlie Evans of Avon; sisters, Phyllis Holderfield (Steve) of Danville, Teri Flaherty (Bob) of Sevierville, TN.; nieces, Alicia Strauss (Rob) of Pendleton, and Heather Doran (Derek) of Indianapolis.  Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Animal Shelter 250 E Campus Blvd Danville, IN  46122.
