Joyce H. Lane, 79 of Clayton, passed away on July 01, 2024.  She was born on May 16, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Nettie G. (nee Martin) and Victor R. Boofer.  At the age of 9, her mother passed away and she was raised by her Mom (Nellie) and Pop (Ralph) Clark.  Joyce married Beryle A. Lane on October 24, 1964 in Indianapolis and they were married almost 59 years before his death on September 25, 2023.  Joyce worked at the Family Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist from September 08, 1986 until retirement on January 19, 2007.  She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church, a 50 years plus member of the Order of Eastern Star, and also Hoosiers Sharing Precious Moments Collector's Club.  Joyce loved to read, practiced Jiu-Jitsu, enjoyed camping, working on jigsaw puzzles, and working outside in her yard.  She definitely had a green thumb.  Survivors include her daughter, Melanie J. (John) Anderson of Clayton; son, David A. Lane of Stilesville; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ross) Richey of Clayton, Andrew D. Lane, and Tiffany M. Lane, both of Stilesville; great grandchildren, Timothy L. Anderson, Remington, Riley, and Rexton Richey; brother, Don (Linda) Clark of Martinsville; her lifelong friend, Dora Garrett of Crawfordsville; and her beloved lap dog, Ariel.  Her parents; husband; Mom and Pop Clark; brothers, Raymond Clark, Michael Clark; sister, Alice Hoffman; and grandson, Billy Anderson, preceded her in death.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, July 05, 2024 in the Hazelwood Christian Church.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 06, 2024 in the church with burial to follow in Stilesville Cemetery.  Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hazelwood Christian Church or Little Red Door Cancer Agency.
