Joan Lee Barber, 84 of Avon, passed away on October 29, 2023.  She was born on April 22, 1939 in Ohio to the late Fern (Buchanan) and Merlin Harrison.  Joan married Max D. Barber in October of 1957 in Indianapolis.  She worked in accounts payable at FMC for many years retiring in 1986.  Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Max Barber of Avon; sons, Christopher Allen Barber of Fort Wayne, David Jeffrey Barber of Mooresville, Matthew Aaron Barber of Greencastle; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.  Her parents and brothers, John, James "Jack" and Dale Harrison, preceded her in death.  Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, November 01, 2023 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the Danville South Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service time in the funeral home.
