Jerry William Matkins left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and Margaret J. Matkins; his wife, Suzanne (Wirey) Matkins; his son, Robbie Matkins, and his sister, Patti Westerfield.

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Krista Hunn (Tony) and Jennifer Matkins; his grandson, Andrew Matkins; and by his brother, Kenneth Matkins (Debbie).

Jerry grew up in Beech Grove, Indiana and later resided in Indianapolis, Indiana. He worked in the family painting business for several years, before becoming an over-the-road truck driver, which was the profession from which he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

He was well loved by both family and friends alike. He had a very generous spirit, always willing to help others when and where he could.

A Celebration of the lives of Jerry and Suzanne (Wirey) Matkins will be held on Saturday, July 23 from 12:00-2:00 PM with services at 2:00 PM at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield, Indiana.
