With a heavy heart the family of Jerry Russell Dean, 82, announce his passing. Jerry was called home by God on August 22, 2022, after a short, but brave fight against cancer. He is reunited in heaven with his wife of 23 years, Joyce Dean, and his son, Jeff Robert Dean. Jerry was born on September 18, 1939, to the late Melvin Dean and Nina (Carter) Dean Koss. Jerry was a life-long Hoosier, music lover, sports fan, superb bowler, and Gold Wing enthusiast. He had a sharp sense of humor and was always ready to share a story. He loved his family and worked hard to support them. After 40+ years he retired from Link Belt allowing him to take long road trips on his Gold Wing with his wife and friends. He was a trusted friend and mentor to many. He will be missed very much. We leave you with two of our favorite Jerry-isms: "Smile, God loves you!" and "You're right where you're supposed to be."

Left to cherish his memory are brother, Marty (Rose) Koss; children: David, Mike, and Amber; stepchildren: Randy, Jeff, Barbara, and Melissa; grandchildren: Devon, Marissa, Colton, Jeremiah, Brandon, Jessica, and Dillon; great grandchildren: Mikayla, Tyler, Hayden, Isaiah, Shyla, Marra, Kai, and Aria. Memorial visitation will be held on August 27, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.
