J.B. Bowen, WW II Veteran, Musician, and Educator, joined his wife Ruth in heaven on Saturday, November 5th.
He volunteered extensively including Riley Children's Hospital, Carmel St. Vincent Hospital, IRT, and the Indianapolis City Center. He was active well into his last week teaching exercise classes at Summer Trace in Carmel, IN where he resided. He is survived by his son Brad Bowen (Colleen) and daughter Betsy Denis (Marc) and his grandsons, Ryan and Kevin Bowen and Taylor, and Spenser Denis, and his brother, Charles Thomson along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Paddack. The family especially wishes to thank all the staff at Summer Trace in Carmel for the warm and wonderful care and support throughout his years in residence. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Danville Park Department in memory of J.B. Bowen, for the support of children's programs.
