Janice Kay Hood, 71 of Plainfield, passed away March 04, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was born on March 22, 1949 in Indianapolis, to the late Fletcher and Bessie Townsend York.  Janice married Allen Hood in August of 1977.  She worked for the State of Indiana, the Department of Corrections, the Indiana Library, and retired in 2013 as an accountant for the Indiana Supreme Court.  Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Allen Hood of Plainfield; daughter, Donnell Hood (Kirt Schlegel); son, Bryan (Karyn) Hood and their children, Bryanna, Cheyanne and Korbyn Hood; siblings, Carolyn (Steve) Carter, Cheryl (Albert-deceased) Moore, Francine (Chuck) Herron, Terry (Julie) York, Gary (Kelly) York, Emma (Brad) Hamilton, Bonnie (Roger) Bennett and 11 nieces and nephews.  Services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 09, 2021 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Clayton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, March 08, 2021 in the funeral home.  All guests attending visitation and/or services will be required to wear a mask at all times in an effort to promote a safe environment.
