Janet Ann (Brown) Stamper, known to her loved ones as Jan, passed away peacefully on March 8th at the age of 80. She was born on November 10, 1944, to Anna (Dunn) and John Brown, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Stamper, whom she married on February 13, 1965. Their love story spanned decades until his passing on June 17, 2022.
Jan leaves behind a legacy of love and adventure through her two daughters, Sherry (JP) Simmons and Pam (Brant) Cannon. She was a devoted grandmother to Madison and Mia Simmons, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her cherished dachshund, Roscoe, who was a constant and beloved companion. While she did not have siblings, she held Jeanette Curtis as a beloved sister in her heart.
Jan had a remarkable career, spending decades at Eli Lilly, where she specialized in SAP implementation. Her work took her around the world, allowing her to visit many cities across South America and Europe, with Florence, Italy, holding a special place in her heart. She built lifelong friendships with colleagues she truly cherished. After retiring from Eli Lilly, she spent a few years at Harman Kardon before officially stepping into retirement.
Jan will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her deep love for family and friends, and the kindness and wisdom she shared with those around her. She lived a life filled with purpose, travel, and connection, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A visitation to celebrate Jan's life will be held on Thursday March 13, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
