Jane Ellen Rapp, 81, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Fishers, Indiana. Born September 7, 1943, in Logansport to Lawrence and Ruth (Schlaman) Stamper, she was the second of three children.  Jane lived with her mother in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for several years before returning to Indiana in 1957 and graduating from Plainfield High School in 1961. She worked at Hendricks County Bank and then Link-Belt before marrying Michael "Rob" Finchum in 1966. Jane later attended night school at Butler University, earning bachelor's and master's degrees in education. She retired in May 2005 after 27 years at Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Mooresville.

She married William J. "Bill" Rapp on June 8, 1991, with whom she had many adventures, traveling to nearly every state in the US. They had been members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainfield.  An avid reader, Jane enjoyed scrapbooking, walking, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and brother David Stamper.  Jane is survived by sons Kurt (Ellen) Finchum of Mesa, Arizona, and Kent Finchum of Plainfield, her brother Steve (Kathy) Stamper of Danville, stepchildren Darcey (John) Steel of Noblesville and Devon Rapp of Carmel.  Jane also had three grandchildren Jacob Steel (Stephanie), William Steel (Allie) and Hayden Rapp.   One great granddaughter Meredith Steel.   Also, two nieces, two nephews, and many other extended family members. Visitation will be held Thursday February 6, 2025 from 10 A.M. to 12 noon in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will start at 12 noon in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
