James H. Tomlinson, Sr., 84 of Cartersburg, passed away June 22, 2020.  He was born on October 06, 1935 in Greencastle to the late Paul and Ellen Gallagher Tomlinson.  James married Shirley Dunsmore on February 25, 1956 in Plainfield and they were married for 48 years before her death on January 15, 2005.  Jim served in the National Guard for 8 years as a civil defense police officer.  He also worked for National Starch and Chemical for 36 years, retiring on May 1, 1991.  Jim was very involved in genealogy and a member of Danville Genealogy Society.  He also introduced the first French Lop rabbit in Indiana.  Survivors include his sons, James H. Tomlinson, Jr., William A. Tomlinson (Debbie), John R. Tomlinson; granddaughter, Heather Tomlinson and great grandchild, Emma.  His parents, wife and siblings, Rosalie Wilborn, Phyllis Haack, Pauline Fisher, Betty Jo Kelly, Omer Tomlinson, and Effie Walls, preceded him in death.  Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2020 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Cartersburg.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
