James E. Sparks, Jr., 92 of Plainfield, passed away November 01, 2020 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.  He was born on March 28, 1928 in Bloomfield, to the late Bessie Pearson and James E. Sparks, Sr.  James owned a men's clothing store in Bloomfield and then was a teacher at Northwest High School before retiring.  He was a member of the Belleville Church of Christ.  James was a U S Army veteran serving in Korea and then in the Army Reserves, retiring as Major Sparks.  Survivors include his son, James B. Sparks (Denise); daughters, Amanda (Bob) McIntosh, Jennifer (Bill) Hamilton, Mary Shelley (Bill), Sara Fruitt (Eric); 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  His parents, daughter, Sindy Maden, 6 sisters and 1 brother, preceded him in death.  A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 05, 2020 at the Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.  The Reverend David McPherson will officiate.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
