Obituary

James Lloyd Lawson, 87 of Avon, passed away December 16, 2017.  Born March 22, 1930 in Newcomb, Tennessee, he was the son of John Henry and Lydia Ayres Lawson.  He married Pauline Braden on December 12, 1953 in Knoxville, Tennessee and she survives.  An U S Army veteran, he was a POW for 38 months, surviving the Tiger Death March during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Avon American Legion Post and the Graceway Fellowship Church in Plainfield.  James worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1991. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Pauline Lawson; children, Shirley Gilbrech, Lloyd Lawson, Kathy Goode; brothers, George Floyd Lawson; sisters, Evelyn Laxton, Alma Byel; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.  Services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Calling will be from 11:00 am until the service in the funeral home.
