Obituary

James Richard Boyden, 77, of Danville, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He was born on November 15, 1944 in Indianapolis to the late Raymond and Susan F. Burnell Boyden.  James was an U. S. Marine Corp veteran and a past member of the Danville American Legion Post #118.  He attended Howard Sams Technical Institute and received an associate's degree from ITT.  James was an engineer technician and designer for ASA Consulting Engineers for many years, retiring in 2009.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, racing (both motorcycles and automobiles) and camping.  Survivors include his children, Joe Boyden (Amanda), Ron Anderson (Danielle), both of Clermont, Buffy Boyden (Robert Koske), Diane Waterman, both of Danville; brother, Sam Boyden (Alice); 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  His parents; brothers, Raymond Boyden, Ron Boyden; and the love of his life, Marilyn Hefley, preceded him in death.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens Cemetery in Whitestown.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 6415 Castleway W Dr Ste 114 Indianapolis, IN 46250.
