Jackie Lou Patton Johnson, 85 of Danville, passed away on May 22, 2024. She was born on November 15, 1938 in Hartford, Kentucky, to Ruby Grey Felty and Everett Patton. After graduating from Owensboro High School she went to Nursing School at the Kentucky Baptist Hospital in Louisville. She was a Registered Nurse for many years, working at Methodist Hospital and Hendricks County Hospital. She met and married William Duane Johnson on August 29, 1959 in Owensboro, Kentucky at the Third Baptist Church where the two became partners for life and set an amazing example for the entire family.
Together they enjoyed their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, harness racing, the love of antiques and University of Kentucky basketball. She was an amazing cook/baker; her entire family will cherish the handwritten recipes of our favorite foods.
She was a member of Gasburg Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R).
Jackie's memory is honored by her husband of 64 years, Bill Johnson of Danville, son, William S. Johnson of Brownsburg, daughter, Cheryl L. Fritch, (Bret) of Evansville, she was Mee Maw to 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, son, Kevin D. Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Teresa Johnson.
Baker Funeral Home in Danville is handling the arrangements. Private graveside services were held at Mill Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gasburg Baptist Church 11564 N. Gasburg Rd, Mooresville, IN 46158.
