Obituary

Jack A. Robbins, 80 of Danville, passed away on September 12, 2024.  He was born on June 16, 1944 in Crawfordsville to the late Juanita Grace (Harris) and Verla Herschel Robbins.  Jack married Jane L. Curtis on December 28, 1971 in Speedway.  He worked at Acme Masking for 10 years, and then retired from Maplehurst Bakeries after 38 years. Jack enjoyed the outdoors and truly loved the six years he spent living in Alaska.  He spent his retirement fishing, watching westerns on television, and restaurant hopping. He especially liked Mayberry Café and watching "Andy Griffith" reruns.  Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jane L. Robbins of Danville; son, Jack A. Robbins, Jr. (Andi) of Plainfield; grandchildren, Jack a. Robbins III "Trae" (Brooke) of Mooresville, Sydnee L. Robbins of Plainfield, Katya Bair (Brandon) of Beech Grove; one great granddaughter, Blakelynn D. Robbins; and his sister, Delores McCallister of Greenwood.  His parents; brothers, David Robbins, Don Robbins, Danny Howard; and sisters, Linda Wicklynd and Lois Tincher, preceded him in death.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 16, 2024 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the Roachdale Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service time in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
