Jack D. Birge Jr. age 63, of Clayton, passed away May 5, 2023 in his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born on October 8, 1959 in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Jackie D. Birge Sr. and Mary Margaret Clements Birge.  He married Carolyn Arnold Cummings, the love of his life, on September 29, 2000.

Jack was an auto mechanic at Wal-Mart in Plainfield for 15 years before his retirement. He enjoyed telling dad jokes and making the people around him laugh. Jack loved spending time working with his hands and taking things apart in his spare time. He loved spending time outdoors and would go fishing whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Lea Cassady; step-children, Rebecca Gregg (Eric), Nathan Cummings (Lisa), Brandee Brock (Tyler); sister, Jennifer Ristuccia (Chris); brother, Michael Birge; and grandchildren, Samuel Birge, Roman Gregg, Eleanor Gregg, Heylee Smith, Emma Smith and Katelynn Brock.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield.  Celebration of life to follow at a later date (TBA).  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: American Cancer Society 5635 W. 96th Street Suite 100 Indianapolis, Indiana 46278.
