Helen Frances McCloud, 81 of Clayton, died peacefully at home on May 20, 2025.  She was born on May 30, 1943, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Dorothy Bowen and Charles Mulvihill.  Helen married M. Joel McCloud in Terre Haute on November 20, 1965.  She was the Town of Plainfield Department of Public Works secretary for almost 25 years before retirement. After retiring, she volunteered for Hendrick's Regional Hospital for many years, assisting patients and their families. Helen was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years. She made friends everywhere she went and always loved to laugh and enjoy life. She also enjoyed growing tomato plants and tending to her flowers and many other plants.  Helen kept her faith quiet but ensured it was always part of her. She was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, M. Joel McCloud of Clayton; daughter, Beth Kahlow (John) of Carmel; son, Matthew J. McCloud of Springville, IN.; sisters, Dorothy Rayborn, Cathy Walschinski, both of Alabama; and three grandchildren, Brett, Jenna, and Bridget Kahlow. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Eversole.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, from 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, May 23, 2025.
