Helen Applegate Larison, age 90 of Danville, passed away November 10, 2016 in Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center.  Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Danville United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in New Winchester Cemetery.  Pastor Jeanne Winter will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville.  Helen was born in Stilesville on August 15, 1926 to Orville and Clona (Phillips) Applegate.  She graduated from New Winchester High School in 1944 and attended Ball State University for one year.  On August 8, 1948, Helen married Harold Larison in her parents' home west of Danville.  He preceded her in death in 2009.

As a bookkeeper, Helen worked for several different businesses over the years, but she was employed the longest at McRoberts Insurance Agency for 25 years and then retired from Danville World Travel.  Helen was an accomplished pianist and organist and shared her talent in any church she attended.  She also played for many weddings and funerals.  Helen retired from organ playing in 1999 from Danville United Methodist Church, where she continued to maintain her membership.

Survivors include daughter, Rebecca (Rob) Jones of Danville; grandchildren are Mike (Andrea) Maze, Jodi (Jason) Barnett, Mandi (Kyle) Lumpkin, Andrew Jones, Leah Jones; great grandchildren, Jaden, Branson, Wyatt, Ethan, Colton, Abby and Katie.  Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, husband, and daughter, Martha Jane Larison Maze.
