Gordon Lynn "Pie" Castetter, Sr., 79, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023, in Carmel, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene Parra Castetter, on February 4, 2014.

Born on October 31, 1943, in Plainfield, Indiana, to Flora (Stout) Castetter and Roy Castetter, Gordon was one of seven children. Four preceded him in death: Leon Archer, Lowell Castetter, Carl Castetter, and Judy (Castetter) Wells. He is survived by his brothers, Roger Castetter and Billy Castetter; his sons, Gordon, Jr. and Christopher Castetter, both of Carmel, Indiana; his daughter, Lisa Castetter of Newport Beach, Calif.; his granddaughters, Molly and Macy Castetter; honorary granddaughter, Konnie Bonham, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gordon attended Plainfield High School prior to proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force in the early '60s. During his service, he served abroad in Thailand, and domestically, in Florida. After completing his military service, he resided briefly in Florida, where he met and married Irene Parra on June 10, 1965. They eventually moved to Plainfield, Indiana, where they raised their family. After a 30-year career with Roadway Express, he retired, enjoying spending his leisure time with his family and attending various sporting events. His former co-workers remember Gordon's kindness and his friendly spirit.

An avid sports fan, he rarely missed watching a Colts game and loved the Cubs! He also enjoyed golfing and working on challenging crossword puzzles. Although he loved his sports, nothing made him happier than spending time with his children and his precious granddaughters, who affectionately referred to him as "Pap-paw!"

The family wishes to thank the staff at Carmel Health and Living for Gordon's exceptional care. He was well known for his unforgettable jokes, always bringing a smile to his care team.
