Geraldine “Geri” (Glombicki) Zoiss, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026, in Avon, Indiana.
Born on August 28, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Anthony and Bernice (Komskis) Glombicki, Geri lived a life rich in creativity, beauty, and deep devotion to her family.
A remarkably talented and versatile artist, Geri was an active and cherished member of the local artist community. She was an accomplished painter in both watercolors and oils, and her creative spirit knew no bounds. Over the years, she poured her heart into crafting intricate dolls and miniature dollhouse furniture, painting ceramics, and creating delicate glass ornaments. She was also an avid gardener with a wonderful green thumb. Her garden and her art often intertwined, as some of her favorite subjects to paint were the vibrant flowers she lovingly tended herself.
While her artistic talents were admired by many, Geri’s greatest joy and proudest masterpiece was her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Mel Zoiss, who passed away in September 2020, as well as a loving mother and an adoring grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Those who knew her best will fondly remember her love for a good shopping trip and how much she enjoyed gathering around the table for a meal at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.
Geri’s warmth, creativity, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her surviving family, Marty (Michele) Zoiss, Michael (Maggie) Zoiss, and Mark (Janice) Zoiss; and her cherished grandchildren: Ben, Amanda, Adam, and Noah. She is also lovingly survived by her brother, Tony (Carol) Glombicki and her sister, Linda (Roger) Obrecht.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday October 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Susanna Catholic Church with inurnment to follow at Westridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
