Obituary

George Anderson, 91 of Plainfield, passed away on January 28, 2024.  He was born on August 28, 1932 in Richmond, Indiana.  George served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955, during the Korean War.  He retired from Allison Gas Turbine after 36 years of service.  He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Avon, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Westside Wood Carvers.  George was predeceased by his parents Dale and Iva Mae Anderson; brothers: Johnnie, David and Tom Anderson, also his first wife Ruth G. Anderson and his second wife Patricia Williams Anderson.  He is survived by his brother Ralph (Suzie) Anderson, sisters: Angela Killingsworth and Sara (Jack) Walden.  Sons: Norman (Nikki) Anderson and Byron Anderson.  Stepdaughter: Denise (David) Virgin. Stepsons: Jeffery Williams and David (Denise) Williams.  4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 4 step greatgrandchildren.  George loved fishing and doing scroll saw work.  He made hundreds of decorative items that he gave to family and friends.  He also made hundreds of wooden ribbons for cancer patients.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 12 noon in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Private burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Calling hours will be held from 10 am until service time in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice.
