Fred Benge, age 75, of Plainfield, passed away on November 26, 2025. He was born September 8, 1950, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late James Benge and Alma Loveless. He married Vicky Bare Benge on June 10, 1989; she preceded him in death in 2022. Upon his marriage to Vicky, he adopted her two girls, Carrie and Chrissy, as his own. Fred was a professional land surveyor for R.W. Armstrong/CHA Consulting for more than 30 years before his retirement in 2018. Fred was a quiet, calm man who enjoyed fishing, cooking—especially trying new recipes—and baseball; he was such a great player in 70's that he was scouted and attended tryouts for the Kansas City Royals. In addition, he enjoyed coaching softball, golfing, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends. Fred loved his family beyond words and would be the first to help anyone in need.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, prior to the funeral service.

Survivors include his children: Carrie Baker (Andy) and Chrissy Workman (Mike Reeder). Grandchildren: Jacob, Austin, Lottie, and Doria. Great-grandchildren: Lyrik and Brylee. Siblings: Jim Benge, Hazel Phares, Coy Benge and Mike Benge
