Frances Lorraine Deiter, age 97, of Plainfield passed away on January 18, 2025.  She was born on December 9, 1927 to the late Porter and Thelma Ruth McKinney Skiles.  She married Anthony "Tony" Deiter on April 5, 1975; he survives.  Frances worked at Standard Grocery for several years before her retirement. Frances was an accomplished oil painter, enjoyed baking, was a very good cook, loved to stay active and attended water aerobics for many years. She was so proud of her family and always made sure to plan family reunions. She loved her husband fiercely and served him along with others for many years.

Funeral services for Frances will be held on Thursday January 23, 2025 at 12 noon in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will follow in Bluff Creek Cemetery in Johnson County.  Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. on Thursday until services in the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years Anthony Deiter. Daughters: Cynthia Ann Tencza (Chris) and Debra Colette Ficklin.  Grandchildren: Christopher Green Sr., Andrea Louise Meece (Jeffrey), Cari Buis (Matthew Sr.), Colette Patrice, Michael Taylor (Melissa), Jamilyn Gay (David) and Malia Taylor (Josh Heni). Greatgrandchildren: Chris Jr., Kyle, Jacob, Hannah, Sydney, Audrey, Matthew Jr., Jessie, Joseph, Judah, Jubilee, Marquise, Martine Brendan and Jasmine Greatgreatgrandchildren:  Timothy, Timari, Emma, Sullivan and Tucker.  She was preceded in death by her daughter: Vicky Green. Great-granddaughter: Braelyn and 4 brothers: Porter, Floyd, Forest and Frank.
