Elaine Anita Putman, 95 of Danville, passed away on December 12, 2025. She was born on October 06, 1930 in Portland, Oregon, to the late Rowena Lee (Lusk) and Olen Preston Garner. Elaine worked as a secretary for the California Highway Patrol where she met and then married her husband, John Lewis Putman on March 29, 1951 in Riverside, CA. Together they raised three boys and she became a homemaker, a Cub Scout den mother (just to name a few) and enjoyed caring for her yellow rose bushes. She was a member of the USGA Southern California Public Links and also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. Prior to her husband's death they enjoyed traveling and visited every continent except for Antarctica, touring over fifty different countries.
Survivors include her sons, John R. Putman of Cottonwood, AZ., David B. Putman of Roseville, CA., Mark L. Putman (Jayne) of Danville, IN.; brother, Richard P. Garner of Canton, GA.; sister, Gloria Mae Greer of Redlands, CA.; 8 grandchildren, David, Katie, Kristen, Sarah, Micah, Ben, Tyler, Adam; and 11 great grandchildren, Briana, Helena, Everett, Piper, Kimber, Rosie, Michael, Cassius, Isla, Mac and J. J.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Woodland Terrace from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Baker Funeral Home, Danville, is handling the local arrangements.
