Edward Alan Kortepeter, 73 of Plainfield, passed away on April 21, 2023.  He was born on September 27, 1949 in Indianapolis, to the late Evelyn (Walker) and Theodore Kortepeter.  Edward was an U. S. Army veteran.  He married Karen J. Dolan on November 01, 1975 in Indianapolis.  Ed worked for Eli Lilly and Company for over 35 years, retiring in 2006 as a package engineer.  He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Indianapolis.  He enjoyed watching sports including the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indiana University basketball.  The most important thing to him was his family and spending time together.  He served as a chauffeur to many of his grandchildren's activities.  Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Karen J. Kortepeter of Plainfield; daughter, Megan Siler of Pendleton; son, Nick Kortepeter of Zionsville; sisters, Louise Plummer of Greenwood, Ruth Alberts (Jim) of Indianapolis, Carol Kortepeter of Greenwood; and three grandchildren, Ella, Hadley, and Owen Kortepeter.  His parents and siblings, Joann Rodarmel and Paul Kortepeter, preceded him in death. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.
