Obituary

Dorothy A. Gummer, 98, of Plainfield, passed away on October 21, 2022.  She was born in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin to Stanley and Celia Gesme Jacobson. She married William A. Gummer on March 21, 1943; He preceded her in death in 1980.  Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, reading and was a life time member of the Old Timers Club at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Visitation will be held on Monday October 31, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Phil Gulley officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Survivors include her children: William S. Gummer, Donald J. Gummer (M.S.), Richard M. Gummer (Shirley), Steven Gummer and Jack L. Gummer.  Daughter in Law: Tobi Gummer.  Sister: Alice Cooke.  14 Grandchildren and 12 Greatgrandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son Mark S. Gummer, Twin brother Lt. Donald Jacobson WWII (May 1944), Sister Lois Kaplan and grandchild Morgan L. Gummer.  Please make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
