Donna Colleen "Colleen" Nichols, age 87, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 26, 2025.

Born on September 6, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Colleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She worked in food service for Plainfield Schools for more than 30 years and was an active member of Laughing Squares and her longtime bunko club. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and community—along with fond memories of her famous green beans and her Robert Redford.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Nichols Sr.; her father, George Dooley; her mother, Ada (Miley) Dooley; and her sister, Velma (Dooley) Hinshaw.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph Jr. (Barbara) and Tom (Cheryl); four grandchildren—Stephanie (Tyler), Derek (Lindsey), Margret, and Elizabeth; and four great-grandchildren—Aiden, Jemmalene, Acie, and Arie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply. The family extends heartfelt thanks for the kind words, support, and shared memories during this time.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the calling at 11:00 a.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield. Service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
