Diane Lee (Thorne) Hiser, 86 of Danville, passed away on October 23, 2025 in Plainfield.  She was born on February 04, 1939 in Hollywood, California, to the late Vernice (Lees) and Ralph Thorne.  She graduated from Jefferson High School in Upland and also from Marion Business College.  Diane worked for several years at the Hendricks County Hospital.  She was a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority.

Diane had a deep love for Standardbred horses and spent countless joyful hours at the racetrack.  Yet, she always said there was nothing more thrilling than watching her three daughters compete in swimming, those moments were better than any horse race.

She loved hosting friends poolside, always serving her famous cucumber sandwiches.  One distinct memory of her children was a hilarious tradition of making "Skip, Run, and Go Naked Punch," much to her friend's delight.  All who knew her well also knew her favorite word.

Fashionable throughout her life, she had a natural flair for style and could rival any professional interior designer and clothing designer.  She was the Indiana Pacers' number one fan, cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm.  Every Christmas, she treated herself to a magnificent tree, always over 12 feet tall, because celebrating in style was her signature.

Diane loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was fun, full of life, and loved by all who knew her.  Survivors include her 3 daughters, Kristine (Don) Dodson of Danville, Kathryn (Milton) Lee of South Bend, Kirsten (Lance) Simon of Danville; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.  Her parents and brother, David Thorne, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville.  A memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home with Father Bill Barfield officiating.
