Dennis passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2024 after fighting a long battle with cancer.  He was 74, and a graduate of Pike HS.  In his early years he worked as an auto mechanic alongside his father and grandfather at the Standard Oil Station in downtown Indy.  In his later years he worked as a locomotive engineer at CSX RR, medically retiring after 15 years.  He was dedicated 50 year member, and current president of The Indpls fire buffs (Civilian organization of IFD).  He leaves behind his wife of 28 years Terri Jo (Schwartz), his son David, and stepson Chad Mitchell.  Dennis requested no service, but contributions to The Indpls Fire Buffs would be appreciated   Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield is handling the arrangements.
