IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra R.
(Dotts) Porter
July 2, 1953 – April 20, 2025
Debra R. Porter, 71, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025. Born July 2, 1953, in Indianapolis to the late James and Rose Mary Monroe Dotts, Deb was the kind of woman who made everyone feel like family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Porter Sr., and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever.
Before retiring, Deb worked on the production line at Coca-Cola in Indianapolis, giving it her all like she did in everything. She was a lifelong bookworm and a dedicated Netflix marathoner.
Deb wasn't just a mother to her own kids, she was like a mom to everyone. She had a way of showing up for people, putting others before herself, and making you feel seen, heard, and loved. Her care was constant, and her door (and kitchen) was always open.
She is survived by her children: Stacey Cox, Eric May, Paul Porter Jr., Zachery Porter, and Alisa Porter - and their families. Deb was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and her legacy lives on through each and every one of them.
She also leaves behind her siblings: James Everett, David Lee, Lourinda Mae, and Clyde Emery. Waiting to welcome her home are her parents, along with her siblings Vera Jean, Lynndona Marie, Gene DeWayne, and Mark Allen.
A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m with a formal moment of remembrance at 2 p.m.in the Meridian Church of God 7800 South Meridian St. Indianapolis, Indiana 46217.
