David Sherman Shillings, age 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 14, 2023 in Avon.  He was born on March 27, 1947 in Sunbright, Tennessee to the late Benjamin and Flossie Williams Shillings.  He married Karen Huffman, she survives.  David was a test mechanic for Allison's in Indianapolis for over 50 years before his retirement.  He was a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge#707, was an US Army Veteran and enjoyed to fish.  Survivors include his wife Karen Shillings.  Children: Shannon (Mark) Carr, Gregory (Tina Renee) Shillings, Ginger (John) Underwood, Joanna Yarnell, Mark (Kim) Tarter, Karey Smith and Jimmy (Renee) Yarnell. Sister: Carolyn ( Willard) Gunter. Brother: Harvey (Margaret) Shillings.  15 Grandchildren, 35 Greatgrandchildren and 10 Great Greatgrandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son Robert Yarnell and a granddaughter Kailee Marie Carr.   Graveside services will be held on Thursday July 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.  Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield is handling arrangements.
