David Allen Schlarb, 72 of Avon, IN passed away November 22, 2019.  He was born on August 01, 1947 in South Bend, IN to the late Delbert and Maxine (Darr) Schlarb.  David married his beloved wife Rita K. (Witt) Schlarb on July 16, 1982 and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2012.  David was a proud Veteran, having served in the United States Army.  He was a millwright for Indianapolis Power and Light for 25 years, retiring in 2000.  David enjoyed playing pool, woodworking, remodeling homes and most of all spending time with his family.  Survivors include his children, Steven (Catherine) Hedges, Robert Hedges, Kristina (Joshua) Taylor; brother, Terry Weiss; sister, Cathy (Bruce) Barwick; grandchildren, Coleman Hedges, Jordan (Jeremiah) Welty, Evan Key, Emma Key, Jacob Taylor, Jackson Hedges, Madelynn Hedges, Erin Taylor and Cameron Hedges.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Bob) Schlarb; sister-in-law, Peggy Weiss and granddaughter, Sydney Hedges.  Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN.  A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
