Obituary

Darrell E. Durbin, 61 of Danville, passed away November 12, 2016 in Kansas.  Born November 11, 1955 in Perry Iowa, he was the son of the late Wayne M. and Mary A. Blanchard Durbin.  Darrell will be sorely missed and was loved by so many.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  Darrell served our country in two of the Armed Forces which were the Army and the Navy and he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal from the U S Navy.

Darrell was a free spirit that ran the roads as an over-the-road truck driver for well over 30 years and he never met a driver he didn't like, or a person he wouldn't help.  Today, the trucking industry lost a great soul, a hard worker, and a dependable man.   He also enjoyed working on drywall projects, and his hobbies were fishing, God help any fish that got on the hook, they were going to the frying pan.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jean Durbin; brothers, Michael Lavern, Conrad Lee and Wayne Arden Durbin.  He was survived by his wife of 12 years, Debora L. (Debbie) Durbin, his brothers, Jerry Madison, Roger Allen, Larry Dean, Russell Dennis and Danny Joe Durbin; his sisters, Linda K. Durbin, Christina Marie Sanchez, and Becky S. Sherman; his son, Steven Don Durbin; his daughter, Christina Maltby; and his grandchildren, Hope Ellen, Faith Eternity, Heavenly Dawn Durbin, Shelby, Sierra Brandon, Taylor, Mariah Maltby, and Kaleb Dowsett; his  great grandchildren, Savannah Greim, and Brayden Whitehall; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.   He was loved by everyone; God inherited a good soul and a fine man today.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the Danville South Cemetery.  Calling will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday, November 18, 2016 in the funeral home.  Contributions may be made in memory of Darrell to the Wounded Warrior Project, Hendricks County Fraternal Order of Police or the Hendricks County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be made at www.bakerfuneralservice.com
